How we handle your details.

This notice explains what we collect when you contact us through this website, why we hold it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated 01 September 2026.

Who we are

The Benesan Apartments, Namibia Street, Woreda 03, Bole Sub City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are the ones deciding what happens to the information described here. You can reach us at [email protected] or on +251 911 223 518.

What we collect, and when

We only collect what you type into the enquiry form on this website, or what you send us by email, WhatsApp or telephone. Through the form that is:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone or WhatsApp number, if you give one
  • The apartment you are interested in, your arrival and departure dates, and the number of guests
  • The reason for your stay, and anything you write in the message box
  • Whether you asked us to send you photographs and rates later

We do not ask for identity documents, payment card details or any financial information through this website. Do not send them through the form.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, quote you a rate, and take a reservation if you go ahead. That is the whole purpose. If you tick the box asking us to send photographs and rates when they are ready, we also use your email address for that, and only for that.

Our lawful basis

Answering your enquiry and preparing a booking are steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement with you. Sending you photographs and rates later rests on your consent, given by ticking that box. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and it is no harder than giving it: reply to any message from us, or write to the address above, and we will stop.

Who else sees it

Three services handle your information on our behalf, and no one else does:

  • Formspree receives what you submit through the form and passes it to our inbox. Formspree is based in the United States.
  • Zoho Mail hosts the mailbox your enquiry lands in.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website and counts visits to it. Those counts are anonymous and aggregated, and Cloudflare's analytics does not set cookies or track you between websites.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or to any other property.

Your information leaving Ethiopia

Because those services operate outside Ethiopia, your enquiry is stored on servers abroad. We ask you to be aware of this before you send the form, and sending it means you accept that transfer. If you would rather your details stayed in Ethiopia, contact us on WhatsApp or by telephone instead of using the form.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel, and nothing following you to other websites. If that ever changes we will ask you first and update this page.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for two years and then deleted, so that we can recognise you if you come back to us. Where a booking is made, we keep the booking record for as long as tax and accounting rules in Ethiopia require.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to how we are using it, and withdraw any consent you gave. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. There is no charge.

Keeping it safe

This website is served over an encrypted connection, and the form submits over one too. Access to the mailbox holding enquiries is limited to the people who need it to answer you.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about them. Children are welcome as guests, but bookings are made by adults.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Ethiopian Communications Authority, which oversees personal data protection in Ethiopia.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
